"No Right Guard in Heaven"

"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to open the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;" Revelation 5:9. O what a blessed thought, but friends, this is not just a thought. This, is a revelation from God. The picture we find in His Holy Word of heaven truly leaves a lot to the imagination, but as you have noticed, I have titled this little article, "No Right Guard in Heaven". No, the Lord's Word never makes mention of Right Guard and I am in no wise attempting to add to His wonderful Word, but God has shown us that contrary to the imaginations of many, there will be absolutely no need for Right Guard or any other deodorant in heaven.
As sad as it is, there are those who, though they won't admit it, deep down inside, expect God's children to be perfect or at least to meet some set of standards that they have established. This set of standards are their personal convictions. There are actually people in the world who, in the name of religion, will not eat meat. Now, that's fine if that person chooses not to eat meat, but when that person looks down upon or speaks hurtfully of those who do eat meat, whether or not they say it is in a spirit of love, they are doing a far worse wrong than the person they speak of. What they are actually doing is calling God's Word a lie for we read, "And He called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man." Matthew 15:10-11. Now, these words came from the Lord Jesus Christ and what He was speaking of was the eating with unwashed hands. We all know that a man can get some of the vilest of germs on his hands and though he should ingest anything into his body, that thing will not defile him. It may indeed kill him, but it won't defile him. No matter what we have learned in biology throughout our lives, the Lord who made us has a far different layout of our anatomy than that. He said, "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man." Matthew 15:18. So you see, the tongue is connected directly to the heart, but not physically. That's what the Lord was trying to get them to understand. Not physically. When we see a man physically and he appears to be less that we think he should be, we tend to defile ourselves with our physical tongue out of our heart that is not physical. Some may ask what this all has to do with Right Guard. Everything. I heard a joke once of two men who were working closely together and one of them noticed a terrible odor and said, "One of our deodorants has stopped working." The other man replied, "Well it must be yours, because I don't use deodorant." You see, though men may consider themselves to be perfect already, there is still this body to contend with which is physical and all they have to do is to neglect to bathe regularly and not only will they be reminded of just how vile they really are, but all those around them will be aware of it too. Now, I'm not trying to say that we should all go out and drink battery acid or something, only that if we did do that the man would not be defiled. God's Word says it and I believe it. What we would be is dead, but again, only physically.
If you are reading this little article, it is a sure thing that you are alive and if you are alive it is also for certain that you have faults. Those faults are what makes you a sinner. Now, I too while writing this little article am alive and have faults, therefore I too am a sinner. The devil's lie is that we are sinners because we sin. He wants us to believe that because as long as we believe that, we will never be saved. O we may do better and we may impress many people and even ourselves from time to time, but we will still be sinners lost and undone. No, we are not sinners because we sin. I have two dogs out in my yard and these two dogs bark all the time. Now, they are not dogs because they bark and should they ever stop barking that wouldn't make them stop being dogs. If they cut back on their barking, they would not be any less dogs. No, they are not dogs because they bark, they bark because they are dogs. That's what dogs do. They bark. I am a sinner, not because I sin, but because I was born that way. I sin because I am a sinner and as long as there is life in this mortal body I will remain a sinner and so will you. That leaves us with but one question and that is where do we stand with God? This my friend, is the most important question we will ever have to answer. It's not whether or not we belong to some church organization or any other organization. It's not whether we gave to the United Way or to Goodfellows or even if we are good fellows. It's not what our financial or social standing may be. You name the question, and none are as important as, "Where do we stand with God?" Sin, all sin, separates us from God who is righteous. Between God and all sinners is a door of righteousness. As the title of this little article says, there is no Right Guard in Heaven. There is no need for there will only be righteousness in Heaven. "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." 1 Corinthians 15:50-52.
