Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white. They are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.
This little children's song has been taught to children all over the world for many years and although it is not scripture in itself, it is one of perhaps the most scriptural songs ever written. As we look around us today and see the shape this world is in, it is to say the least very alarming. There have been surveys and studies done by thousands concerning the condition of society and what is needed to get it under control. Some say, "Build more hospitals and prisons." Some say, "Hire more policemen." Everyone has got their own theory as to what this world needs and no matter what efforts are made to get a grip on the situation, it continues to worsen.
Everyone is ready and quick to blame everyone else and no one seems to want to stop and consider their part in the problem. Most will agree that the major decline began when the Bible was taken out of the schools. This is true, but that was just another step taken by the devil to deceive man. From the very beginning, since sin was introduced into society by Adam and Eve submitting to the devil, the blame has been passed on to someone else. Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the devil.
The only real answer to the problem society has today is the same answer to society's problem way back then. The answer is found in the little children's song. That answer is Jesus Christ. Everyone knows that sin exists rampantly, but no one can see the answer. Some believe that if they can make someone feel guilty enough about their sins, they will be compelled to turn from those sins. To a degree, this may work for a time. But there is still the real enemy who will compel that person to return from where they came.
The only real and lasting answer is found in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, that word Gospel means good news. How in the world can anyone ever consider that me being a sinner is good news? That in itself is terrible news. The good news is that, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:17.
It is indeed so very true that the Bible should be placed back in the public schools and yet, that alone is by no means all that is necessary to stop the cancer that is growing in our society. There are Bibles in all the Christian schools and though they do seem to have a handle on the violence, there are still many lost people in these schools and even in the churches today. I know this to be a fact, because I was one of those who was in the church, who was lost. No, just having the Bible there and teaching what is right and what is wrong will in no way cause a person to come to Christ.
I don't know who all may be reading this little article, but it is my most earnest prayer that whoever will read it will be greatly affected and most richly blessed by it. You see, I have been called to be a witness. Now, when a person in a court of law is called to be a witness, they are sworn to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Jesus Christ came not into this world to condemn the world, so who am I to try and condemn the world? As we are about to celebrate the resurrection of the living Saviour tomorrow, it is only fitting to notice why He came and why He died in the first place. The reason He came and the reason He died such a cruel death was love. We are all born unto sin and no one is exempt, and yet God so loved us that He sent His only begotten Son to die upon a cross as a final sacrifice for all our sins. No greater love has ever been or ever will be.
So you see, I could preach to you my convictions until I'm blue in the face and all you would gain from it would be a picture of how good I perceive myself to be. It matters not whether you are a better person than I am or whether I am a better person than you are. The truth is that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. That's where the good news takes over. The only question to be asked now is, Have you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour? If you are never sure about any other thing in this lifetime, be very sure about this for, "He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:18.
